An outline of a proposal for strengthening the Organization of American States (OAS) by drawing on past reform efforts that addressed not only electoral institutions but also the judiciary, armed forces, legislature, and media. It suggests that this experience could serve as a blueprint for a more activist OAS role through the creation of a commission that includes civil society representatives—such as lawyers, judges, human rights advocates, and indigenous groups—alongside political actors, thereby institutionalizing a more inclusive and democratic approach to regional governance.
