Ellen Yaroshefsky is a leading expert in legal ethics, with decades of experience as a scholar, practitioner, and educator. She teaches ethics courses, organizes symposia, and serves as an expert witness and advisor to lawyers and law firms. A former Commissioner on the New York State Joint Commission on Public Ethics, she co-chaired the ABA’s Ethics, Gideon and Professionalism Committee and currently co-chairs the Ethics Committee of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Yaroshefsky served as Clinical Professor of Law and Director of the Jacob Burns Center for Ethics at Cardozo School of Law from 1994 to 2016, following earlier work at the Center for Constitutional Rights and in private practice. She has received numerous awards, including the New York State Bar Association’s honor for Outstanding Contribution in Criminal Law Education.
