Tatiana Paula da Cruz

Tatiana Cruz is the Project Assistant for LADD and a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, specializing in Comparative Politics. Her research examines judicial resilience under authoritarian populist leadership, with a focus on the behavior of Supreme Court justices and a regional emphasis on Latin America.

Before beginning her Ph.D., Tatiana served as a legal advisor to the Brazilian Air Force on the legal staff of the Air Force Chief Commander, and taught Criminal Procedure at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora Law School.

She holds a J.D. from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, an LL.M. from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, and a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Brasília — all in Brazil — as well as a Master of International Public Affairs from the La Follette School of Public Affairs at UW–Madison.
