Bryant  Garth

Bryant Garth is Distinguished Professor of Law Emeritus at the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where he also serves as Co-Director of the Center for Empirical Research on the Legal Profession and holds a joint appointment in Criminology, Law and Society. His scholarship focuses on the legal profession, the sociology of law, globalization, and dispute resolution. Before joining UCI, he served as Dean of Southwestern Law School, Dean of Indiana University-Bloomington School of Law, and Director of the American Bar Foundation. Garth has written influential work on law and globalization, including award-winning books co-authored with Yves Dezalay, and he remains active in major research initiatives on the legal profession, including the “After the J.D.” project and the Law School Survey of Student Engagement.
