Bruce A. Green is the Louis Stein Chair at Fordham Law School and director of the Louis Stein Center for Law and Ethics, where he has been a full-time faculty member since 1987. A prolific and frequently-cited scholar, Green teaches professional responsibility and seminars in ethics in criminal advocacy and access to justice. Through the Stein Center, he has established and organized numerous conferences and events, including the biannual Legal Ethics Schmooze, the annual Criminal Justice Ethics Schmooze, the annual Access to Justice Roundtable, and the 2016 International Legal Ethics Conference at Fordham Law. Currently serving as chair of both the ABA Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility and the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination drafting committee, Green has held numerous leadership positions in bar associations and professional organizations, including past chair of the ABA Criminal Justice Section and committees of the NYC and NY State Bar Associations. Beyond his academic work, he has served in various public service roles, including as a member of the NYC Conflicts of Interest Board and attorney disciplinary committee, and previously worked as a federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York (where he served as Chief Appellate Attorney) and as a judicial law clerk to Justice Thurgood Marshall and Circuit Judge James L. Oakes. Green received the Michael Franck Professional Responsibility Award from the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility in 2018 and is frequently quoted as an expert on legal ethics and criminal law.
