Jayanth Krishnan is the Milt and Judi Stewart Professor of Law at Indiana University Maurer School of Law and Director of the Stewart Center on the Global Legal Profession. A socio-legal scholar, his research explores the legal profession, access to justice, immigration, and legal globalization, with a focus on the U.S., India, and other regions including Africa, Brazil, and the Middle East.
He holds a J.D. from Ohio State and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. A recipient of multiple teaching awards, including IU’s Trustees’ Teaching Award and the Leon Wallace Teaching Award, Krishnan has also held visiting appointments at leading institutions worldwide. As Director of the Stewart Center, he leads initiatives at the intersection of research, pedagogy, and public engagement on global legal professions.
